'Manicure' to compete at Sundance Film Festival

Iranian short film ‘Manicure’ is set to compete at the 35th annual Sundance Film Festival in the US.

Award-winning Iranian short film ‘Manicure’, directed by Arman Fayyaz, is set to contend at the 35th annual Sundance Film Festival in the US city of Park City, Utah.

'Manicure' is the story of a young man having trouble coping with the sudden death of his wife, while facing pressure from an angry mob of local villagers after a shocking fact is revealed during her burial.

This 14-minute short film produced in 2017 has received numerous awards at film festivals across the world including, Best Short Film at the 5th Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival (LADFF) in the US, Best Film at the Big Bang International Short Film Festival in Athens, Greece, and Special Jury Prize at the 2018 Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival (Curta Cinema) in Brazil.

The Sundance Film Festival is the largest independent film festival in the United States, featuring work from American and International independent filmmakers. The festival will be held from January 24-Febuary 3, 2019 in Park City, Utah, USA.
